Safia Jafri, M.D., CSPI

Our featured Specialist in Poison Information this quarter is Safia Jafri, M.D., who became part of our call center team in 2019. Safia is a nationally Certified Specialist in Poison Information with America’s Poison Centers and plays a vital role in our daytime call center operations.

Safia earned her medical degree from Dow Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan. With her experience in psychiatry and behavioral health, she effectively helps those who reach out to the MiPDC each day. Her dedication shines through as she supports individuals during their most critical moments. When parents, caregivers, or victims of poisoning call, she uses her expertise to listen attentively and provide valuable guidance in their emergencies.

Proud to call Michigan her home, Safia stays informed about poison-related issues impacting those who live and work in communities throughout our state. Each day, she finds fulfillment in being part of a healthcare team that is passionately dedicated to offering emergency medical advice and care to those in need.
