Ramsis Georgi, CSPI
I am an international medical grad and have been practicing in the field of emergency medicine for 9 years before traveling to the states and continuing working in the medical field in various specialties.
Working with poison control as a Certified Specialized Poison Information (CSPI) is a great opportunity to hone my craft, every call carries its own challenges, and I have to be ready for every scenario: from simple home exposure in a toddler, to doctors calling for very sick patients, from environmentally hazardous material spills, to exposure to dangerous materials in the workplace. It’s a real brain exercise to practice controlling the pace of the call and get the best outcome when the caller is stressed. Participating in caring for a very sick patient or giving comfort to a scarred family member gives me great satisfaction.
When I am not in the poison center, I am on my farm, exploring how to enrich the land and exploring how nature works in harmony without the poisons inflicted on by man.
